Frequently Asked Questions

Is IELTS and CELPIP practice free on this site?
Yes — all Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking practice for both IELTS and CELPIP is completely free. No credit card or account is required to start.
How accurate is the IELTS writing band score estimate?
Our system analyses your writing using the same four criteria as real IELTS examiners: task response, coherence and cohesion, lexical resource, and grammatical range and accuracy. The estimate is a strong indicator for practice purposes, but it is not an official score.
What is the difference between IELTS and CELPIP?
IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is accepted worldwide for immigration, study, and work visas. CELPIP (Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program) is used specifically for Canadian immigration and citizenship. Both test listening, reading, writing, and speaking skills.
Do I need to create an account to practise?
No. You can start practising IELTS or CELPIP Writing, Reading, Listening, and Speaking immediately — no sign-up needed.
Which test should I take for Canadian immigration — IELTS or CELPIP?
Both IELTS General Training and CELPIP General are accepted by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for Express Entry and permanent residency applications. CELPIP is a fully computer-based test, while IELTS includes a face-to-face speaking component with a human examiner. Choose whichever format suits you best.
What band score do I need for Canadian Express Entry?
Canadian Express Entry typically requires a minimum of CLB 7 in all four skills, which equals approximately IELTS Band 6.0. Higher scores earn more Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points and significantly improve your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply.
How does the AI speaking feedback work?
You record your spoken response directly in your browser. Our AI then transcribes your audio and evaluates it against the official scoring criteria — fluency and coherence, lexical resource, grammatical range and accuracy, and pronunciation for IELTS; or content, coherence, vocabulary, and listenability for CELPIP. You receive a band or CLB estimate plus specific improvement tips within seconds.
Can I use this site to prepare for both IELTS Academic and IELTS General Training?
Yes. Bandleep has separate practice modules for IELTS Academic (Task 1 graph descriptions, Academic Reading passages) and IELTS General Training (Task 1 letters, General Training Reading). The Listening and Speaking modules apply to both test types.
