Who needs to take CELPIP General LS?▼
CELPIP General LS is required for specific Canadian immigration streams that only assess Listening and Speaking, such as certain Provincial Nominee Programmes (PNPs) and spousal sponsorship applications. Check with IRCC or your immigration consultant to confirm which test you need.
How is CELPIP General LS different from CELPIP General?▼
CELPIP General LS tests only two skills (Listening and Speaking), while CELPIP General tests all four (Listening, Reading, Writing, Speaking). CELPIP General LS is shorter and less expensive. Both are accepted by IRCC, but only for the specific programmes that allow them.
Is the Listening test the same in CELPIP General and CELPIP General LS?▼
Yes. The Listening component is identical in both CELPIP General and CELPIP General LS. You can use the same practice materials for both versions.
