Mock Tests — Common Questions

What is a full mock test, and which exams can I take?
A full mock test is a complete, timed run through all four skills of a language exam in one sitting, mirroring the real test's structure and pacing. On Bandleep you can take a full mock for IELTS Academic, IELTS General Training, or CELPIP General. Each one ends with a combined score estimate so you can gauge where you stand before the real thing.
How long does a full mock test take?
Plan for roughly two and a half to three hours to finish all four skills back-to-back, which is close to how long the actual exams run. IELTS Listening, Reading, and Writing take about 2 hours 40 minutes plus a separate Speaking section, while CELPIP General runs about 3 hours across its four parts. You can also practise a single skill on its own if you don't have time for the whole sitting.
Is the full mock test free?
Individual skill practice has a free tier, so you can try Listening, Reading, Writing, or Speaking tasks at no cost. The complete four-skill full mock test is a Bandleep Pro feature, since it bundles the full timed experience and combined scoring. You can start with free single-skill practice and upgrade whenever you want the end-to-end mock.
How are mock tests scored?
Listening and Reading are scored automatically against the answer key the moment you submit. Writing and Speaking are evaluated by AI trained on the official IELTS and CELPIP scoring criteria, giving you band or CLB estimates plus written feedback on each response. At the end you get a combined estimate across all four skills.
Are the scores official?
No. Every result is a Bandleep practice estimate designed to help you prepare, and it is not an official IELTS or CELPIP score. Only the official test providers can issue certified results. Use your mock scores to spot weak areas and track progress, not as a substitute for the real exam.
How is a full mock test different from single-skill practice?
Single-skill practice lets you focus on one section — for example, just Listening or just a Writing task — at your own pace, and much of it is free. A full mock test strings all four skills together under real exam timing and returns one combined score estimate, so it tests your stamina and time management the way test day will. Most learners use single-skill practice to build up specific skills, then take full mocks to rehearse the complete experience.
